Learn how to perfect your prints using Adobe Express by setting margins, showing bleed, and adding crop marks to a design.

Show margins and bleed

When editing a design in the Adobe Express editor, you can easily add margins and use bleed. Margins ensure important design assets aren't cut when printed, and bleed prevents unwanted white edges on printed designs.

  1. Open a design in the Adobe Express editor.

  2. From the header, select Margins.

    • To show margins, turn on the Show margins toggle.
    • To show bleed, turn on the Show bleed toggle.
Tip:

Bleed and margins are applied to all the pages in your design. Margin is added as a line and Bleed is added as a white border. You can edit your design to ensure that all essential elements stay within the margin, and if you see any white gaps around the edges, you can resize the design to cover them.

Add crop marks and show bleed

When exporting a design, you can include bleed and crop marks for easier trimming after printing.

  1. Open a design in the Adobe Express editor.

  2. Select the Download button, then select PDF from the File format dropdown.

    • To add crop marks, turn on the Add crop marks toggle.
    • To show bleed, turn on the Show bleed toggle.
  3. Select Download.
