Learn how to keep the team on-brand by locking your design elements to prevent unintended changes in Adobe Express.

Use any of your designs and follow along to learn lock and unlock elements.

  1. Open a design in the Adobe Express editor and select the element you want to lock.

  2. Select the   icon, then select:

     

    • Lock: To prevent the element from being moved or edited.
    • Lock: Allow text replace or Lock: Allow image replace: To lock the element's position and styling (size, font, color, and animation) but still allow you to replace the content. Note: Available for Premium, Teams, and Enterprise plans.
  3. Further adjust the lock permissions in the left panel, under Lock settings.

     

    • Text: Select Edit replace settings to adjust the behavior, alignment, and size.
    • Image: Select Replace image to upload a new photo or choose from Adobe assets.
Note:
  • To unlock an element, select it on the page, right-click, and select Unlock.
  • Text objects using Dynamic layout can't be set as replaceable when locked.
  • When replacing images, the background removal isn’t retained. You can remove the background and reframe it after replacing it.
