Generate images in lower resolution and then upscale them later to download in full resolution.

Try it in the app
Quickly generate images for rapid ideation in a few simple steps.

With Fast mode in Text to image, you can quickly ideate, generate, and compare image variations in 512x512 resolution. You can then either download these images or use the Upscale option to convert them to production-ready, higher-quality 2K resolution output for download. Fast mode is best used for simple topics, backgrounds, most illustrations, and close portraits.

  1. Go to the Firefly website and select Text to image.

  2. Select any of the images from the gallery to go to the Text to image editor.

  3. In the General settings section, use the Model dropdown menu, select Firefly Image 3, and turn the Fast mode toggle switch on.

In the Text to image module, under General settings, the Model dropdown menu is open, displaying options such as Firefly Image 3, Firefly Image 2, and Fast mode. Currently, Firefly Image 3 is selected with Fast mode enabled.
Fast mode allows for quicker image generation with 512x512 resolution, with the option to upscale to 2K later.

  4. Adjust other settings in the left panel to refine the settings for image generation further.

  5. In the Prompt field, enter a detailed description of the image you wish to generate.

  6. Select Generate to create a new set of image variations in 512x512 resolution.

  7. Hover your mouse over the image that you want to upscale.

There are four generated image variations and one of them is active with different options enabled, including Upscale.
Convert the generated image you like to a higher resolution before downloading.

  8. Select the Upscale   option to convert the image to 2000x2000 resolution.

The upscaled image will have the Upscale option greyed out.

    Note:

Upscale uses one generative credit per image.

  9. Download the image or explore other editing options available to make further adjustments to the image.

You can view all the image generations completed in the current browser session, along with indications for all upscaled images in the History strip. To activate this, select the History   icon next to the Generate button.

The History strip is highlighted that has all the generated image variations. There are also indications for images that were upscaled.
Use the History strip to view all generated image variations, including those upscaled.
