Creative Cloud Libraries panel stopped working

 Learn what to do when Creative Cloud Libraries doesn't load and you get the error "Something went wrong initializing Creative Cloud Libraries".

Why did the Libraries panel stopped working after reinstalling the Creative Cloud desktop app?

If you uninstall the Creative Cloud desktop app and reinstall it as part of some troubleshooting, the Libraries panel inside a Creative Cloud desktop app may stop working. A blank panel is displayed, as shown below.

How to fix the issue

Try the following solutions to fix the problem.

Solution 1: Install the latest Creative Cloud Libraries manually

Download the latest Creative Cloud Libraries installer from the link below, and double-click the file to begin the installation.

  • Creative Cloud Libraries installer: Windows  |  Mac
If the problem is not fixed yet, follow the steps in Solution 2 below. 

Solution 2: Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool and then install the latest Libraries manually

  1. Kill any running Creative Cloud Library process by using the Task Manager on Windows or Activity Monitor on macOS.

    Note that the name of the process is "CCLibrary (32/64 bit)".

  2. Quit any running Adobe applications.

  3. Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool to clean the Creative Cloud Library.

    Steps for Windows:

    1. Click the following link to download the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool for Windows: AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.exe.
      If you see a download or save file prompt , click Save File to download it on your computer.
    2. Right-click the downloaded AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.exe file and choose Run as Administrator.
      Note: If Run as Administrator is not available when you right-click, double-click AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.exe to run the EXE file.
    3. Follow the onscreen instructions in this order:
      • Choose your language: Press E for English or J for Japanese, and then press Enter.
      • Review the Adobe End-User License Agreement: Press Y to accept or N to decline (if you decline, the script stops). Press Enter.
      • Select the application you want to remove: Press the number that corresponds to All and then press  Enter.
      • Press the number that corresponds to CC Library (32/64 Bit) and then press Enter.
      • Confirm that you want to remove the product: Press Y and then press Enter.
    4. When you see the message “Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool completed successfully,” press Enter.

    Steps for macOS:

    1. Click the following link to download the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool for macOS: AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.dmg.
      If you see a download or save file prompt , click Save File to download it on your computer.
    2. To run the tool double-click the downloaded AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.dmg file.
    3. Double-click Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and follow the onscreen instructions in this order:
      • Choose your language: Press E for English or J for Japanese, and then press Return.
      • Review the Adobe End-User License Agreement: Press Y to accept or N to decline (if you decline, the script stops). Press Return.
      • From the menu in the upper-right corner of the script window, select the version of the application you want to remove. Press Return.
      • From the table, select the app you want to clean up - CC Library, and then click Cleanup.
    4. When you see the message “Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool completed successfully,” click Quit.
  4. Download the latest Creative Cloud Libraries installer from the link below, and double-click the file to begin the installation.

    Note:
