Creative Cloud desktop app stops responding

When you try to install the Creative Cloud desktop app on Mac, the installer stops responding and the Creative Cloud desktop app installer screen disappears.

Solution 1- Give correct permissions to /tmp folder

The issue occurs when you do not have correct permissions on /tmp folder. Follow these steps to give permissions to the /tmp folder:

  1. Navigate to Go > Utilities and launch Terminal.

  2. Type the following command and press return.

    sudo chmod 1777 /tmp

  3. Enter the password and press return.

The correct permissions are now set up on the /tmp folder. Try installing Creative Cloud desktop app.

Solution 2- Disable System Integrity Protection (SIP)

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, disable SIP on the system by following these steps:

  1. Turn on or restart your Mac and hold down Command-R immediately on the keyboard to start Recovery Mode. Release when you see the Apple logo.

  2. Navigate to Go > Utilities and launch Terminal.

  3. Type the following command and press return.

    csrutil disable

  4. Restart the machine in Normal Mode.

  5. Follow the steps in solution 1 to give correct permissions to /tmp folder.
