Adobe doesn't recommend that you uninstall the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app. However, you may be required to do so in certain scenarios, such as when troubleshooting or if there is an issue with the installer.

Note:

Starting December 11, 2023, new users and organizations will not be entitled to Creative Cloud Synced files. Starting February 1, 2024, Creative Cloud Synced files will be discontinued for personal accounts that existed before December 11, 2023 (learn more here). Starting October 1, 2024, Creative Cloud Synced files will be discontinued for business accounts associated with organizations that existed before December 11, 2023 (learn more here).

Before you uninstall

Uninstall Creative Cloud apps

Ensure that you uninstall all Creative Cloud apps from your device. The Creative Cloud desktop app can only be uninstalled if all Creative Cloud apps (such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro) have already been uninstalled. Learn how to uninstall or remove Creative Cloud apps.

Verify that your files are synced

Ensure that all your files are synced to your Creative Cloud account before running the uninstaller. Files not synced to your Creative Cloud account could be lost. You can check the sync status of your files in the Creative Cloud Files folder. (Enterprise users) Find out if you have admin privileges to uninstall

If you're an Enterprise user, you may not have admin privileges to uninstall your app. In this case, contact your admin.

How to uninstall and reinstall the Creative Cloud desktop app

Uninstall on Windows

  1. Download the uninstaller for your version of Windows:

    Windows 11, 10, 8, 7 (64-bit)

    Windows 10 (ARM)

    Windows 10, 8, 7 (32-bit)

  2. Extract the contents of the zipped file. 

  3. Double-click the Creative Cloud Uninstaller.app file.

    Note:

    You may be prompted to allow the uninstaller to proceed.

  4. Select Repair. If your issue is resolved by repairing, you need not uninstall the Creative Cloud desktop app.

    If repairing doesn't fix the problem, proceed to Uninstall.

  5. If you proceeded to uninstall the app, select Close on confirmation.

Uninstall on macOS

  1. Download the uninstaller for your version of macOS:

    macOS v10.12 or later 

    Mac computers with Apple Silicon

    macOS v10.11 or earlier 

  2. Extract the contents of the zipped file.

  3. Double-click the Creative Cloud Uninstaller.dmg file.

  4. Depending on your security settings, you may receive a warning to open the uninstaller from the mounted DMG file. Select Open to continue.

  5. Select Repair. If the issue is resolved by repairing, you need not uninstall the Creative Cloud desktop app.

    If repairing doesn't fix the problem, proceed to Uninstall.

  6. If you proceeded to uninstall the app, select Close on confirmation.

Uninstall silently from SCCM (Enterprise admins only)

  1. Using the device that houses the SCCM server for your organization, ensure that it has the latest Creative Cloud Desktop app installed.

  2. Locate the executable file:

    • Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Creative Cloud\Utils\Creative Cloud Uninstaller.exe
    • macOS: /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Creative Cloud/Utils/Creative Cloud Uninstaller.app/Contents/MacOS/Creative Cloud Uninstaller
  3. Create a folder and place the executable file in it.

  4. Create a program and use the Creative Cloud Uninstaller.exe –u command to uninstall the Creative Cloud desktop app.

  5. Run this program from distribution point on all the client machines where you want to uninstall the Creative Cloud desktop app.
