Content Credentials allow creators to attach extra information to their content when they export or download it. Content Credentials attach additional information to content at export or download, stored in a dedicated, tamper-evident set of metadata called a Content Credential. The Content Credential accompanies its corresponding content wherever it goes, enabling individuals to enjoy content and context together.
Over time, if a piece of content undergoes different stages of editing or processing, it can also accumulate multiple Content Credentials. This creates a version history that people can explore and use to make more informed trust decisions about that content.
Using Content Credentials is an easy way to share content transparently. It can help build credibility and trust with viewers by sharing more information about yourself and your creative process. It can also help prevent the spread of misinformation and disinformation online.
Content Credentials allow you to attach your identity and contact information to your work, giving people more ways to find and connect with you when they encounter your content online.
When exporting an Adobe Premiere sequence containing one or more Adobe AI-generated assets, either directly from Adobe Premiere or through Media Encoder, both applications will notify that Content Credentials will be included in the exported assets for supported formats. These formats include:
MP4
QuickTime MOV
AVI
WAV
MP3
JPEG
PNG
TIFF
Adobe doesn't guarantee that exported assets published on any publishing destinations will support these Content Credentials on their platform.
Premiere can detect and display Content Credentials for supported media in your sequence, including content from compatible cameras, AI-generated assets, and other supported sources.
To enable automatic verification on import:
You can also manually scan assets at any time in Premiere:
In the Project panel, right-click one or more assets.
Select Scan for Content Credentials.
View the results in the Content Credentials column in the Project panel.
To verify Content Credentials during export in Premiere:
Select a sequence containing supported assets.
Go to File > Export > Media (or use Cmd/Ctrl + M) to open Export Mode.
You'll see the Content Credentials details under the Output section of the Export window.
When exporting from Premiere, you can include Content Credentials in your export settings, allowing you to attach information such as linked accounts and other relevant details.
Select a sequence containing supported assets.
Go to File > Export > Media (or use Cmd/Ctrl + M) to open Export Mode.
In the Export window, expand the Content Credentials section and enable the Apply Content Credentials preferences option.
Once enabled, you can use the Set preferences option to apply your Content Authenticity preferences and sign the exported media with your verified name and linked social accounts. You can also use the Preferences page to request that generative AI models not use your content for training.
You can also export your project using Adobe Media Encoder while adding your verified identity, linking social accounts, and configuring Content Authenticity preferences.
In the Export Settings dialog box of Adobe Media Encoder, select the Content Credentials tab.
Enable the Apply Content Credentials preferences at export option.
Under the Preferences section, select Set Preferences to open the Content Credentials preferences webpage and choose what creator information is included in your exports.
Under the Generative AI training and usage specify if the generative AI models should not train on or use my content.
Close the browser to go back to Export Settings.
Select Refresh to apply the latest cached Content Credentials settings.
