FrameMaker provides multiple ways to create documents. You can start by creating a blank document or create a document using an existing template. If you want to create a document that doesn’t require a strict structure, then you should explore the standard templates shipped out of the box in FrameMaker. However, if you want to create a document that requires a structure (like a report), then you should explore the structured templates in FrameMaker.
Select File > New > Document.
Alternatively, press Ctrl+N.
In the New document dialog, specify the basic page layout as Portrait, Landscape, or Custom.
A) Click Custom.
B) Specify the required values in the Custom Blank Paper dialog.
C) Click Create.
You can also select a measurement unit for the document. By default, the measurement unit is set to inches. FrameMaker displays measurements in dialog boxes and in the document window’s status bar in the selected unit.
