Generative AI FAQ

Generative AI content on Adobe Stock: Contributor FAQ

Adobe Stock accepts submissions of images, vectors, and videos developed with generative AI – expanding how customers enhance their creative projects.

Information & Background

Generative AI technology refers to tools and applications that can generate high-fidelity content from text prompts or uploaded images using machine learning algorithms.

Yes, Adobe Stock accepts content made using generative AI tools that meets Adobe Stock’s current submission requirements for images, vectors, and video and has been clearly labeled as generative AI content by clicking the "Created using generative AI tools" checkbox. If you want your generative AI content to be accepted, please follow the instructions in our generative AI content guidelines.

Adobe has a 40-year history of partnering with creators through major transformations. At Adobe Stock, we’re committed to being by the sides of contributors as we navigate the creative evolution that generative AI brings.

Our generative AI policy puts the power of these tools in the hands of artists, and enables those contributors to earn royalties for licensed content according to our royalty guidelines—the same way as it does for other content.

We believe that useful and beautiful content, clearly tagged and labeled as having been made using generative AI tools, has a place in our Stock marketplace.

Model & Property Releases

  1. Any content created with generative AI tools that depicts, is based on, or is intended to portray an identifiable person requires a model release. For example, if you upload a photo or video of a real person as a prompt, name a specific individual in the prompt, or include prompt keywords intended to instruct the generative AI tool to draw a real person.
  2. If the generative AI content was not based on a real person, but it visually appears to resemble a person, then you must click the "People and Property are fictional" checkbox that appears after you confirm the image or video was created with generative AI tools.
  3. For more information, see our model and property release policies.
