Security fixes in Adobe RoboHelp Server 9

Issue

While performing search on the SQL database, certain SQL injections may render Adobe RoboHelp Server 9 vulnerable to malicious attacks. 

Also, when you update or reload reports multiple times, then after a number of attempts, database might refuse to serve more connection requests and you could get an error message saying, “No access to specified area”.

Solution

To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:

Note:

Stop all working instances of RoboHelp Server 9 before performing the steps given in this procedure. Also take a backup of the WEB-INF folder before making any changes.

  1. Extract the contents from the zip file attached below.

    Download

  2. Browse to the WEB-INF folder of the RoboHelp Server 9 install location.

    Note:

    The default install location is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp Server 9.

  3. Replace the classes and Resources folders in the install location with the same folders extracted from the zip file.

  4. Restart Tomcat service.
