Learn to create Motion titles using templates and Adobe Stock motion templates in Premiere Elements.

Motion Graphics templates (MOGRTs) give Premiere Elements editors the power of After Effects motion graphics, packaged up as templates with easy-to-use controls designed to be customized in Premiere Elements.
New titles and graphics can also be created with Premiere Elements’s Type and Shape tools and exported as a Motion Graphics template for future reuse or sharing.

Premiere Elements ships with sample Motion Graphics templates created in After Effects and Premiere Pro.
You can also bring in Motion Graphics templates into Premiere Elements from the following locations:

  • Adobe Stock
  • Your local folders

Install Motion Graphics templates

You can install a Motion Graphics template from your computer and put it into the folder in the Titles and Shapes panel. Different than media, Motion Graphics templates don't live in the Project panel.

  1. Drag and drop one or multiple templates onto the Titles and Shapes panel to install them into the folder. Or you can install your MOGRTs by clicking the install button in the lower right corner.

  2. You can navigate to a folder where the Motion Graphics template is saved and select Open. The template gets copied to the folder and is available in the Titles and Shapes panel.

Note:

If a Motion Graphics template with the same name already exists, a dialog box will appear, prompting you to either overwrite or cancel the installation of the Motion Graphics template. If you try to install a Motion Graphics template that is incompatible with the version of your project, Premiere Elements notifies you that the template is incompatible. A Motion graphics template is incompatible if created with a later version of After Effects.

The Folder

The Local Templates folder is the default folder when installing MOGRTs or licensing them from Adobe Stock through the Titles & Shapes panel. The folder is located at:

  • macOS: username/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Premiere Elements/25.0/Motion Graphics Templates/
  • Windows: root://Users/username/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Premiere Elements/25.0/Motion Graphics Templates/
Note:

The Local Templates folder directory on macOS and the AppData directory on Windows is unhidden. To view these files, you can unhide them on your system.

Browse and manage Motion Graphics templates

You can browse Motion Graphics templates in the Titles and Shapes panel. The Titles and Shapes panel lets you search and view your Motion Graphics and license-free, professionally curated Stock templates.

In My Templates view, you can do the following:

  • Enter a keyword in the search bar to find exactly what you want.
  • Use hover scrub to preview animations for templates that include video thumbnails.
  • Sort Motion Graphics templates by Recently Used or by Title.
  • Favorite a Motion Graphics template by clicking its star icon. Then, use the Favorites filter near the search bar to view your favorites quickly.
  • Use the Info View to rename and add tags to your Motion Graphics templates for quick organization and searching.

Use Motion Graphics templates from Adobe Stock

Adobe Stock has thousands of professionally designed titles, lower thirds, transitions, and graphics for Premiere Elements. You can find and customize Motion Graphics templates in Adobe Stock from within Premiere Elements using the Titles and Shapes panel.

Bring your movie titles to life with ready-to-use and customizable motion titles. Motion title templates are preloaded with animated graphics, stylized text, and background styles.

While Classic Titles are also customizable, Motion Titles provide you with the convenience of customizable templates. These templates come with popular predefined layouts and components you would otherwise need to create individually.

The titles and text options available from the action bar are now categorized as Classic Titles and Motion Titles for easy access. Each motion title template may include one or more text and graphic components and a background component that can all be customized to your liking.

Note:

Resize control handles for text or graphics are not displayed, if dragged outside the monitor area in Motion Title edit mode.

Drop your title clip onto the same track as your video to avoid the title clip from overriding any portions of your video. To overlay the Motion Title on the video clip, drop it on track 2 (over a video clip on track 1)

You can also move, scale, or transform the Motion Title as a whole, if required. Ensure that you are not in the Motion Title edit mode to be able to modify the title as a single component.

Note:

You can find the original version of the motion title clip that was trimmed in Project Assets. (bin)

There are numerous title templates available online, for Adobe Premiere Elements. The blue bar on the upper-right corner on the content indicates the content is not downloaded. When you drag a Title template from the Title And Text panel on to a clip, Adobe Premiere Elements downloads the online content for the template. Premiere Elements then applies the downloaded content to the template. You can also choose to right-click the template and select Download Now or Download All.

Motion titles are a great way to make fun and interesting videos for every occasion.
