Close Adobe Acrobat.
Adobe Acrobat crashes may occur for various reasons, such as outdated software, insufficient system resources, configuration issues, and conflicting settings. Follow the troubleshooting steps below to identify and fix Acrobat crashes effectively.
Report crashes to help us fix issues
In case Acrobat or Acrobat Reader crashes and a crash report dialog box is displayed, select Send report to share the crash information with Adobe.
If you don't see the crash report dialog box after a crash or freeze, collect crash dumps/logs, process dumps, spin report, and process samples for all Acrobat processes and send them to the Adobe Support team.

Update Acrobat to the latest version
Out-of-date versions of Adobe Acrobat can cause crashes due to incompatibility with updated features or system requirements.
To update Acrobat:
- On Windows, go to Menu > Help > Check for updates, and follow the prompts to install the latest version.
- On MacOS, go to Help > Check for updates, and follow the prompts to install the latest version.
Repair installation (Windows only)
You may need to repair installations when Acrobat crashes or hangs due to corrupted files, missing components, or misconfigurations.
To repair the Acrobat installation, go to the Menu > Help > Repair installation. Follow the on-screen instructions and restart your computer.
Ensure you have an active subscription
An invalid Adobe Acrobat user license can cause crashes if the application detects that the license is expired, incorrect, or not properly activated.
To verify your account activation status, go to Adobe account plans and ensure that your Acrobat license is valid and activated.

Refresh Acrobat license files
If Acrobat crashes or freezes during sign-in or can't verify your subscription, troubleshoot the issue by performing the following steps:

Delete Adobe licensing-related entries, such as Adobe User Info and Adobe App Info, stored in the following databases:
- On Windows: Start > Credential Manager
- On macOS: System preferences > Keychain > System tab > All entries

Relaunch Acrobat and sign in using your account credentials.
Note:Once you delete the Adobe licensing-related entries and sign in to Acrobat, the files are recreated.
Send Acrobat Diagnostics data
If the above troubleshooting steps don't resolve the issue, run Acrobat Diagnostics to collect the crash log files and system data. Share the log ID with the Adobe team so we can help resolve the issue.
To launch Acrobat Diagnostics, go to Help > Troubleshoot Acrobat.
If you don't view the Troubleshoot Acrobat option, go to the Preferences dialog box and select General from the left pane. Then, select Enable troubleshooting from the In the Messages from/to Adobe section.
