REMOVE BACKGROUD

Introduction

Have you found the need to remove or update the background of a large number of pictures? For example, you're in human resources and you've got profile pictures of your department and you need these for their identity cards. But you would like to keep a consistent background for all identity cards, maybe with the company logo included..

Or you had a company event and you got lots of family pictures. And now you want to put one standard background behind the pictures.

Adobe's new Remove Background automation service allows you to handle such scenarios in an easy-to-use workflow. You're not required to install any software or software license. This is a free service. Just use your browser and change or remove the background of a large number of pictures in one go.

And remember, this is not a one-way workflow. If you want to things at any time, you've always got the option to go back.

Run the Remove Background task

  1. In the Quick tasks screen, click Remove Background.

Instead of using background images, you can also choose to remove the background of your pictures, by choosing transparent.
Or replace the background in your pictures with a single background color.

  8. Click a background image from the ones you've uploaded and see how this fits in the preview.

  9. After you've chosen a background that works best, click Next.

  10. Export settings

Choose the file format that you want to output to be generated in.

  11. Once you're done with choosing the background and the file format, click Run task.

That's it. The backgrounds in all your files are updated. And they're available in Your Work on assets.adobe.com.

Common questions

When executing the Remove Background task, choose PSD as the output format. The task produces a layered PSD file that you can further edit in Photoshop.

Pictures must be less than 6000 pixels. If one dimension goes over, the specific picture will not generate a preview. Also, the picture will not be processed as part of the task.
