Fluid Boxes in Adobe Captivate Classic

 New in the 2017 release of Adobe Captivate Classic

Explore the building blocks of smart e-learning with intelligent containers that use white space optimally. These containers kick in when you choose a responsive theme. Optionally you can draw your own Fluid Boxes. Objects placed in Fluid Boxes get aligned automatically so that learners always get fully responsive experience regardless of their device or browser. Crunch authoring time and speed up time-to-market with a host of powerful properties, such as optional display of objects and locking of aspect ratio.

Convert non-responsive projects to responsive projects

 New in the 2017 release of Adobe Captivate Classic

Transform any blank project into a responsive project and view the project in any device seamlessly.

With just one click of a button, transform your projects.

Click File > Save As Responsive on any blank project and see it transform into a responsive project.

You must add Fluid Boxes for upgraded responsive projects. You may do so by using the option Suggest Fluid Boxes or by adding Fluid Boxes manually from the toolbar.

Adobe Typekit integration

 New in the 2017 release of Adobe Captivate Classic

Good typography makes for a great viewing experience only when it’s consistent across devices, and delivering that just got a lot easier. Create a cloud-based kit of selected Typekit font families for use in your courses. Now learners experience the content exactly as you intended.

Typekit has integrated with Adobe Captivate Classic, enabling you to choose and download fonts from the Typekit library.

Simulation enhancements

Enhanced in the 2017 release of Adobe Captivate Classic

In earlier versions of Captivate Classic, simulations were limited to 1280 px. In the 2017 release of Adobe Captivate Classic, you can record simulations in full HD 2k or 4k resolutions.

In addition, you can now pan to the entire slide.

To record simulations in 2k:

  • Create a responsive project
  • Choose Modify > Rescale Project to 2k resolution
  • Add a software simulation slide

Uniform text scaling

 New in the 2017 release of Adobe Captivate Classic

Embrace fluid typography in your responsive e-Learning projects. Use text scaling and see your text appear uniform across various devices.

Changes in Advanced Actions panel

 New in the 2017 release of Adobe Captivate Classic

There is a new check-box Conditional Tab, when enabled, lets you specify a conditional action. In addition to an if action, you can also use a while action when defining an advanced action.

State support for buttons

 New in the 2017 release of Adobe Captivate Classic

Apply states to the buttons to the following:

 1. Quizzes

 2. Drag and drop interactions

 3. Smart shape buttons on master slide

Enhancements in closed captions formatting

Enhanced in the 2017 release of Adobe Captivate Classic

Take closed captioning to an entirely new level in this release. What you get are:

1. Enhanced formatting options for slide notes

2. New Text-to-Speech dialog that highlights audio preview, a better speech agent manager capability, and slide notes management, and structuring and ordering of the notes

                                      3. New closed captioning dialog with slide notes panel

                                      4. Closed captioning settings for responsive projects containing breakpoint level settings and previewer
