Learn how to create a custom model and save it in a project for efficient management.

Projects in Firefly serve as centralized spaces where your custom models are saved and managed. When you train a custom model, you can either save it to an existing project or create a new project for it. Saving custom models to a project keeps everything organized and simplifies managing both the models and collaborators’ access permissions.

Create custom model with new project

Before you begin:

Determine what you want to train your model to do, collect your assets, and prepare your images for training.

  1. Go to the Adobe Firefly website and select Custom models.

  2. On the Your models page, select Train a model.

  3. On the Create a custom model dialog box, give a name and description to the mode and select a training mode.

  4. In the Save to dropdown menu, select Create new project.

The Create custom model dialog box is open and it has a name and a description. It also has an option to select where the custom model project is to be saved.
Select the Create new project option to set up a new project for saving the custom model.

    Note:

The dropdown will display your most recently accessed projects, allowing you to select a previously created project. You can also create a new project from Adobe Home.

  5. In the New project dialog box, give a name to the project, and then select Create.

You'll be redirected to the Create custom model dialog box, and the newly created project will appear in the Save to field.

The New project dialog box is open and a field to enter the name for the new project.
Provide a unique name for the project where the created custom model will be saved.

  6. Select Continue and complete the model training process.

  7. You can access the newly created and saved project by visiting Adobe Home and navigating to Files > Projects. You can view all the projects you have created or been invited to collaborate on.

The Projects tab on the Files page displays both the projects you have created and those you have been invited to collaborate on. There are also options to create new projects or edit existing ones.
The Projects tab on the Files page lists the projects you've created and those you’re invited to collaborate on.

Note:

Any custom models created before the introduction of projects in Firefly have automatically been migrated into a new project. This project appears as the default one for saving the model when creating a new custom model.
