Create visually captivating content by generating images from simple text descriptions.

Try it in the app
Create images from a text description in a few simple steps.

  1. Go to the Firefly website and select Text to image.

  2. In the Prompt field, enter a detailed description of the image you wish to create.

    Tip:

    To write effective text prompts, stick to simple and direct language and use at least three words. 

  3. Select Generate.

  4. Use the other settings in the left panel to refine the variations further.

    • General settings: Select the Firefly Image model (Firefly Image 2 or Firefly Image 3), Fast mode, and the aspect ratio you want to use.
    The image shows Firefly Image 3 selected for the model type and the aspect ratio as Landscape (4:3) for the image that is to be generated using Firefly.
    Try out various aspect ratios for the generated images to suit your needs.

    • Content type: Select Art or Photo or set Firefly to auto-choose the content type based on the prompt.
    The image shows the Content type selected as Art. There is another option to select from - Art and an Auto toggle to allow Firefly to automatically select a content type.
    Use Content type to specify whether the image variations should appear more illustrative or realistic.

    Under the Composition section, a reference image is uploaded, and the strength bar is also configured to influence the generated image variations.
    Upload an image to generate variations that match a reference image's composition.

    Under the Style section, a reference image is uploaded. The Strength and Visual Intensity bars re also configured to influence the generated image variations.
    Guide the look and feel of generated image variations using your own or curated images.

    • Effects: Choose the effects you want to apply, then specify the Color and tone, Lighting, and Camera angle.
    The image shows various art style options listed. There are categories such as ‘All’, ‘Popular’, ‘Movements’, and ‘Themes’, and subcategories like ‘Techniques’, ‘Effects’, and ‘Materials’. There are also thumbnail previews of different art styles.
    Choose effects to enhance visual elements and create diverse styled image variations.

  5. Select Generate to create a new set of image variations.

Once the image variations are generated, you can upscale the image if Fast mode is enabled before the download.

The generated image variations are displayed, and for the selected image, you have options like upscale, download, edit, and more.
Use the Upscale option to upgrade the 512x512 resolution generated image to 2K resolution for higher quality before downloading.

You can view all the image generations completed in the current browser session, along with indications for all upscaled images in the History strip. To activate this, select the History   icon next to the Generate button. 

The History strip is highlighted that has all the generated image variations. There are also indications for images that were upscaled.
Use the History strip to view all generated image variations, including those upscaled.
