Latest version

The latest version of Adobe After Effects is the August (24.6) release. The release includes workflow improvements, important fixes, and more.

Upgrade to the latest version of After Effects

Upgrading to the latest version of After Effects automatically uninstalls previous versions of After Effects. However, preferences and settings from previous versions are migrated when updating to the latest version of After Effects.

You can choose to retain older versions of After Effects. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. In the Creative Cloud desktop application, select Update next to After Effects.

  2. On the You're updating to After Effects (version) dialog, select Advanced Options.

  3. Disable the Remove Old Versions setting.

  4. Download the latest version of After Effects.

Trial software 

Creative Cloud trials are "try and buy", allowing you to evaluate individual products or editions and then convert the installed trial to a full version. You can convert from a trial to a full version at any time by signing up for a subscription. If you purchase a subscription, you are required to be online and to log in with an Adobe ID to start using your full version.

Font installation

Adobe Product installers install fonts into a default system font directory. If the installer finds older versions of these fonts in the default system font directory, it will uninstall the older versions and save them to a new directory. Learn more here.
