Recolor your artwork quickly using a simple text prompt

Learn how to use Generative Recolor to recolor your artwork.

Generative Recolor, powered by Adobe Firefly, lets you recolor your vector artwork with minimal time and effort.

Just enter a simple description of your desired color palette or theme, and Illustrator swiftly generates multiple variations for you to explore. Experiment with the variations and effortlessly apply the one that best suits your requirements.

Before you begin

You need colored vector artwork and an Internet connection.

Recolor your artwork

Explore various color themes using Generative Recolor.

Select your artwork, select Edit > Edit Colors > Generative Recolor, and follow the onscreen instructions.

Optionally, select Add colors to guide the prompt   and add up to five colors to refine the text input.

Refine the output of your artwork

Once you recolor your artwork, you can switch to the Recolor tab and further refine the colors.

Provide feedback on your output

Hover over a variation, select See more options  , and then select Good Result or Bad Result.
