Use Generative Fill to add generated objects to your images in no time.
Discover the possibilities
Experiment with off-the-wall ideas, ideate around different concepts, and produce dozens of variations in a snap using Generative Fill in Adobe Firefly.
- Add visual interest and improve the aesthetics. For example, you can add a flower to a vase or a tree to a landscape.
- Create more realistic images. For example, you can add a person to a landscape photo, a hiker to a mountain photo, or a couple to a beach photo.
- Fix missing people or things. For example, you can add an image of a dog to a family photo.
- Add fun and creativity. For example, you can add a cartoon to a photo.
- Check how your dress will look in a different color by changing the color of your dress in a picture.
- Make your pictures stand out more. For example, you can change the color of a flower in a landscape photo.
Here are some sample prompts you could try:
- Cozy fireplace, casting a warm and inviting glow
- Vintage bicycle leaning against the wall
- Colorful beach umbrellas and lounges

Upload an image or select a sample asset from the gallery.

To add an object or change the color of an object, select
Insert and brush the area or object in the image.

Edit your brush strokes or settings using the following tools:
Tool
Description
Add
Add brush strokes
Subtract
Erase brush strokes
Brush settings
Modify the size, hardness (feathering), or opacity of the brush
Background
Erase or replace the background of the image
Invert
Invert the selection
Reset
Remove all changes made to the image and reset to the original state

Add a detailed description and select Generate. If you leave the description blank, the brushed area will be filled depending on the surroundings.
Tip:To write an effective text prompt, stick to simple and direct language and use at least three words. For example:
- A dragon hiding behind the trees
- An owl holding a book in its talons

Choose an image from the generated results or select More to generate more variations.

To provide feedback on the quality and accuracy of the image or to report an image if it looks problematic or offensive, hover over a variation and select the Options menu
icon. -
Select Keep to continue with the selected image or Cancel to discard the variations generated.

After the image is ready, you can choose to edit, share, or save the image:

Edit the image with Adobe Express — apply filters and adjustments, remove background, add text and more.
Share
Copy the image to the clipboard or edit it with Adobe Express.
Download
Save the image locally.
