Learn to perform a SAML trace and generate SAML Trace JSON file using browser plug-ins. Adobe's customer support staff uses the file to trace the SAML assertions occurring between your identity provider and Adobe to troubleshoot your sign-in issues.
Instructions to perform a SAML trace
Environment
- Customer with a Federated Adobe domain and SSO configured.
- Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome browser.
Procedure
Follow the steps below to perform a SAML Trace on your browser:

The links and steps provided here were correct at time of publishing. For general SSO testing, the Tracer can be installed and run from any client system and any Federated user account on the same network.

Try to sign in to Adobe.com using your Federated ID login credentials.
The SAML tracer dialog box records and displays details as shown below. Note the occasional SAML tags shown at the right indicating SAML assertions being passed.

After the Adobe sign-in attempt fails, use the SAML Tracer dialog to navigate to Export tab > Select Mask values > Click Export button.
A JSON file is downloaded on your system.
