Use the doc to troubleshoot issues with the Pro Import plug-in.
Issue
The Pro Import plug-in does not work on macOS 10.15 in After Effects 17.0.2 and earlier. The plug-in is removed from After Effects on Mac only, as of version 17.0.4. The Pro Import plug-in uses 32-binaries that are not compatible with macOS 10.15 Catalina. In order to support future releases of macOS, the plug-in is no longer available on macOS 10.14 or 10.13 as of After Effects 17.0.4.
This update removes support for importing AAF, OMF, FCP XML and Motion 4 file formats.
After Effects on Windows is not affected and version 17.0.4 on Windows includes the Pro Import plug-in.
Workaround
Use any of the following workarounds to troubleshoot the issue:
- Use After Effects 17.0.2 or earlier version on macOS 10.14 or earlier, or you can use it on Windows.
- Import AAF or FCP XML projects into Premiere Pro, then save the project, and import the .prproj file into After Effects.
There is no known workaround for OMF or Motion 4 project files on macOS 10.15.
