Now in Adobe Acrobat, you can select text and start typing to add replace text annotation. This feature enhances comprehensive reviews. If you select the text and type, Acrobat adds a replace annotation, and if you place the cursor on the document and type, Acrobat inserts an annotation.
-
Select text with the selection tool and start typing.
-
As you type, the selected text gets a strike-through. Meanwhile, a draft icon pops up, and the comment is in focus.
-
Once done, you can press enter to post the comment.
To keep the text unchanged, you have several options: select Cancel in the comment box, tap outside the box, choose another tool, or press the escape key.
You can now quickly deselect commenting tool in Acrobat and exit the workflow by pressing Esc key on your keyboard.
You can now resolve the comments in your document in the following ways:
To resolve a comment, hover over the desired comment. You'll then see the Resolve comment (✓) option appear in the upper right corner of the comment box. Simply select the resolve comment option to mark it as resolved.
In the default view of the comment panel, both resolved and unresolved comments will be visible. Users can use the filter to show or hide resolved and unresolved comments according to their preference. Filters will reset to their default settings upon page refresh or session reset.
Select the comment you want to resolve; you see the resolve comment option (✓) in the upper right of the comment box. Select (✓) to resolve the comment.
After resolving a comment for the first time, you can use the filter option in the comments pane to hide resolved comments.
Select the filter icon in the upper right in the comments pane. Turn on the Hide resolved comments toggle and select Apply.
When you resolve a comment with Hide resolved comments turned on, the resolved comment will automatically disappear.
If a user turns on the toggle to hide resolved comments, Acrobat will retain this preference, maintaining the same filter setting across page refreshes and session changes. However, when a new document is opened, the default setting will reset to display both resolved and unresolved comments.
When you apply a filter, either through the filter option or the resolved toggle, the comment count in the upper right of the comments pane updates to show the number of filtered comments out of the total.
