Acrobat Reader mobile app FAQ

The Acrobat Reader mobile app provides optimum PDF viewing, editing, and sharing experience. Acrobat's advanced Liquid Mode can automatically adjust content to your screen for easier reading. You can annotate, fill, sign, and share PDFs using the free app and also subscribe to use the premium features, including Edit PDF, Export PDF, Combine Files, and Organize Pages.

To download the latest version of the app, visit the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

Refer to Acrobat Reader for Android Help and Acrobat Reader for iOS Help to learn how to use the app. Online Help is available in 19 languages. You can access it from your mobile device or desktop using any browser.

No. Acrobat Reader is a free, stand-alone app with extra premium features that are available when you purchase a subscription. Below is a list of the available subscriptions:

Acrobat Premium provides access to all premium tools within the app, including export, combine, compress, sign, and protect. Whereas, Acrobat Reader Plus provides access to edit, create, and OCR only.

No, Acrobat Reader Plus is a mobile-only offer that can only be used in the Acrobat Reader mobile app. 

To access paid features on desktop or web, you can purchase Acrobat Pro, which works across desktop, web, and mobile. 

Note:

Acrobat Reader Plus is currently only available to a limited set of customers as part of our ongoing efforts to identify and address our customers’ unique document needs. If Adobe Acrobat Reader Plus is not visible in your app, you can get access to the paid mobile tools by purchasing Acrobat Premium on the Settings page.

To access premium app features, you must purchase one of the above listed subscriptions. To purchase a subscription through the Adobe Acrobat Reader Mobile app:

  1. Tap > Subscriptions.
  2. Select your plan of choice and tap Subscribe Now.
  3. On the screen that appears, tap Start 7-day free trial or Subscribe now.
     If you aren’t signed in or don’t have an account, you’re prompted to sign in or sign up before the purchase. The subscription workflow may vary on Samsung devices.
Note:

Free trial and auto-renewal of subscriptions are unavailable in India due to an e-mandate. Users in the Indian subcontinent can use the premium app features via a monthly or annual subscription for single access. Tap  > Subscriptions > Purchase Now and follow the instructions to add the Acrobat Reader mobile premium subscription.

You’re charged for the premium mobile subscription at the time of purchase unless you sign up for a free trial. If you sign up for a free trial, then your payment mode is charged only at the end of the free trial. You may cancel your subscription at any time before your free trial ends.

For example, if you make an in-app purchase with a seven-day free trial, you’re charged on the eighth day when the free trial ends. You’re charged on a recurring monthly or annual basis depending on the type of subscription that you purchase.

Note: Free trial is available only with annual subscriptions.

Yes, you can upgrade from a free to a paid subscription with an in-app purchase of Adobe Acrobat Premium or Adobe Acrobat Reader PlusIf required, you can also downgrade your mobile subscription plans through the Apple App Store.

The subscription automatically renews yearly or monthly, depending on your plan, until you cancel. Cancel anytime in your Apple account. 

If you have an existing subscription to Acrobat PDF Pack, Acrobat Standard, Acrobat Pro, or Acrobat for Enterprise, you can access premium mobile features as well. With subscription to Acrobat Export PDF, you’ll only have access to the Export PDF tool on mobile.

Note:

Upgrade and downgrade capability is currently not available for Android devices.

You may have to restore your subscription. To do so, tap  > Subscriptions or Manage subscriptions. Next, tap Restore Purchases.

Cancel a subscription from the store where it was purchased.

Adobe Acrobat Reader app

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat.  
  2. Select profileicon > Subscriptions.
  3. Select Manage subscriptions.

It opens the store’s subscription page. Follow the directions to proceed with the cancellation.  For more details, view Cancel Adobe trial or subscription.

From Google Play or Play Store

  1. Open Google Play on any device or go to Play Store.

  2. From the menu, select Subscriptions > (your item to cancel) > Cancel Subscription.

    For further details, view Cancel, pause, or change a subscription on Google Play. If you have any issues canceling a subscription, go to Adobe Customer Support or contact acrobat-android-support@adobe.com.

From Galaxy Store

  1. On your device, open Galaxy Store.

  2. From the bottom menu, select hamburgericon > Subscriptions.

  3. Go to Items tab > [your subscription name] > Unsubscribe.

You should receive a cancellation email once you successfully cancel a subscription.

Yes, you can use Acrobat Reader to access PDFs sent a Gmail attachment. However, for use and transfer of information received from Google APIs, Acrobat Reader on iOS and Android adheres to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Yes. You can easily apply for a license to distribute the app in volume. For deployment details, see the Acrobat Reader Mobile Enterprise guide.

The Voice comments feature is currently not supported on files shared for review. However, you can retrieve your comments by unsharing the shared file.

To access your comments on the shared file: 

  1. Open the file and tapUnshare file.
  2. Tap Unshare again to download the file to your device.
  3. For the unshared file, tap> Save a copy.

The copied file now displays all the comments. Unsharing a file also restricts all users from accessing the file.
