Removing Adobe Acrobat Upgrade Plan from Transactional Licensing Program (TLP) and Cumulative Licensing Program (CLP) | FAQ

Starting December 1, 2021, there will be no new purchases of Acrobat perpetual upgrade plans for customers in the perpetual licensing programs. Renewals of the Acrobat perpetual upgrade plan will no longer be available after February 1, 2022.

This change applies to Adobe Acrobat 2017 and Adobe Acrobat 2020.

Who is impacted?

Only TLP and CLP customers who want to purchase or have purchased the Acrobat upgrade plan are impacted.

Will there be a new version of Acrobat perpetual?

Currently, there are no plans for a new version of Acrobat perpetual beyond Acrobat 2020.

Will other products in TLP or CLP continue to offer upgrade plans?

No. Upgrade plan options will also be removed for other products in TLP and CLP on the same dates for new and renewal SKUs.

What is Upgrade License and will it continue to be available?

An upgrade license can be purchased to move to the next version of a perpetual product. If a new version of Acrobat perpetual were released, Acrobat 2020 customers could buy the upgrade license to upgrade to the latest version. The upgrade license allows customers to upgrade from only one version back. For example, Acrobat 2017 customers are eligible to purchase and upgrade their license to Acrobat 2020.

The end of the upgrade plan doesn’t mean you can never upgrade, correct?

No, if there is a future version of Acrobat perpetual, the upgrade license would still be available. Currently, there are no plans for a new version of Acrobat perpetual.

Is migration pricing available to the existing upgrade plan customers?
